Today we are going to talk about the Temple of Debod.
The Temple of Debod is one of the great treasures hidden in Madrid. It is located west of the Plaza de España next to the Parque del Oeste.
This is a building from ancient Egypt which is currently in Madrid. It is a gift from Egypt to Spain for its collaboration in saving the temples of Nubia.
This temple is about 2200 years old and was delivered in 1968.
The temple is surrounded by gardens and many locals and tourists go for picnics, walks, sports... or even a very typical place for photo shoots.
It is worth a visit, admission is free and access to the interior is allowed where we can find information on mythology and Egyptian society and explanations of the hieroglyphs.
