Although generally everyone is scared at the beginning, there comes a day when you have to take your first flight.
What a feeling! And what nerves at the beginning!
As everything in this life there are many doubts about the unknown, that's why we prepared this basic guide to survive your first flight in an airplane.
We assume that either through a website or from your travel agency you have already purchased the tickets to embark on your first adventure by plane.
First and foremost, before you start your trip, keep in mind some things that you usually forget to do or that you simply don't know about.
CHECK IN
Check-in is the preparation of a list of passengers who will be flying on an aircraft on a specific day and at a specific time.
That is to say, even if we have purchased our tickets, it is necessary to check in.
How can I do it?
You must do it from the website of the airline you are flying with or from its app if it has one.
It is enough to enter the platform and enter the data requested, such as the reservation number that we have previously made the payment on the day of payment.
Once you check in, you will be able to choose the seat that is available at that moment.

BOARDING PASS
Once the previous step has been completed, it is necessary to print a boarding pass in order to board the plane.
There are two ways to purchase your boarding pass:
- Online: From Grupo Roisa we recommend you to purchase your card through this way. It is much more convenient because you already have it before arriving at the airport, so you will not have to waste time doing it there and you will be on the safe side: No unforeseen events.
You can even print it when you check in.
It is not necessary to carry the printed document as nowadays at airports you can generally use your cell phone to present it from applications such as Wallet.
- At the airport: As we have mentioned in the previous point, it is less advisable, in case of any last minute unforeseen event, such as traffic to the airport, etc.
To print your boarding pass at the airport, simply locate one of the machines available in the terminal to print your boarding pass, or you can also print your boarding pass at the ticket counter of the airline you are flying with.
Keep in mind that you will normally not be able to print your boarding pass until 24-48 hours before your flight. So don't worry if you can't print your boarding pass until then.
Before going to the airport, check which terminal your plane departs from if there are several available.
AIRPORT
Once we have arrived at the airport (we recommend that on your first flight you do it 3 - 4 hours before) we go to the terminal where our flight departs.
Once there, there are screens indicating departures and arrivals.
If we look at the departures screen we will look for flights departing at the time we have scheduled. We will locate the destination, flight number and we will get a Gate number.
We must go to the Gate number from which our flight departs.

Before arriving you must pass a security checkpoint. When passing the control do not forget:
SHIPPING :
In the boarding area you can observe in the meantime the amount of stores, entertainment and offers that you can find at the airport until your flight departs.
Normally and in medium and large airports you will find cafeterias, restaurants, stores... It's as if you were in a shopping mall!
In addition, the prices of products at the airport are generally cheaper than in the cities.
FLY!
Enjoy your first flight!
SUITCASE
Keep in mind that if you are going to check your baggage you must do it at least 2 hours in advance.
When do I have to check in my baggage?
You must check in if your baggage exceeds 10 kg in weight. If, on the other hand, it does not reach this weight, it is not necessary to check it and you can take it with you on board. We recommend you to read the baggage policy of the airline with which you have contracted your flight, there you will have the information about weight, dimensions etc.
Normally you can take a backpack or similar with you on board (carry-on baggage).
